20 November 2011

dinner is served...

They came!

65 in total—the swim/dive team, coaches, bus driver, and a few parents in town for an NCAA meet

They ate!

veggies and salad...

17 loaves of homemade bread...
18-pounds of pasta...
24-pounds of meatballs (325—I counted)...
12-pounds of fudge...
100 mini cupcakes...

8-dozen cookies...
and so on….

They brightened the house with laughter!

Priceless

Then they drove off into the sunset,
headed back to their university in NY

whew!

The Hound is exhausted and not straying too far from the sofa today! The Hound will occasionally get enough energy to thump her tail a few times while we
plan Thanksgiving dinner …

it's just embroidery, have fun with it!

I'm sure you are exhausted, Cathy, but that had to be a good time!

Cathy, did you have to cook all that food?! Wow! Rest up now. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours. xo

OMG! how did the shoes smell??? LOL! And who, pray who? made all that food?

Stitchfork said...

Laughing Ridgely as I never even noticed the shoes because everyone has that swimmer eau-de-chlorine! I cooked all the food myself over the last few days so it truly was a home-cooked meal for the gang!

Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Congratulations = now sit back with a beverage-of-your-choice, you earned it! (you counted the meatballs, really?)

Oh my - quite the affair!! Ah yes, the eau-de-chlorine - remember it well!! At the nail salon on Saturday I sat next to the girls from our high school swim team that had just come back from states - they still had their medals around their necks - so cute!!

I'm literally tired after reading that. Oh my gosh! Just - oh my gosh!

And I love your ring, by the way. It's my idea of great jewelry.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family, Cathy!

Seriously? Even the bread was homemade?! I don't know if you are a saint or just crazy - maybe a crazy saint? :)
I bet it was super fun though. Growing up in Phoenix, every kid I knew smelled like chlorine all summer, good times.

Geez! you make me look like a pre-schooler in the entertaining arena! It looks and sounds AMAZING! I can't believe you made all that food AND managed to get great pictures and follow up with a blog post - what, you didn't make custom monogramed napkins for everyone as a party favor?... getting lazy huh?... :)

Oh, that sounds marvelous!!! A house full of big boys, love and laughter!!! I know your sons are so proud to have you for a mom - you have obviously always been the home all the kids wanted to hang out at. I'm hoping when we're done with our project, that we have a little bit of that, too!

Happy Thanksgiving, Cathy!

You said it so perfectly ... entertaining is such fun but sooooo exhausting! It's really amazing how tired you can get from entertaining ... I've been there many times! The snacks sound delish, though! xoxo
