farm dinner.....

theme…

corn and tomatoes

setting…

the hayfield—just past the dairy barn,
next to the tomato patch

(where the gps is totally lost and off the map)

time…

as the sun sets

and the moon rises

dinner was a-maizing
everyone was grinning from ear-to-ear

aw shucks...I really wasn’t aiming for the diners across
from me with cob splatter

dessert...corn crème brulee and green tomato pie

bushels of thanks  M.M. for the invite!

it's just embroidery, have fun with it!

This is my all-time favorite summer dinner. We had this twice a week when I was a kid and the corn was fresh. Thanks for sharing...

Perfect red and white theme, Cathy! I just had some corn on the cob for the first time all season last night and I loved it! I hate dealing with the stringiness stuck in the teeth afterward, but well worth the deliciousness {with some butter and pepper}. I discoverd this past week that Ohio grows quite a bit of corn!

YUM - what a delicious meal and your photos are simply fabulous!! I think the red/white checked napkin/towel is one of my favorites - elevates the ordinary to totally chic!!

Sadly we don't do sweetcorn like that in this country, it doesn't taste right at all. Love your photos, and of course the stylish napkins, just what is needed for buttery fingers.
