foxing the quick brown fox.....

“The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog”

a phrase that contains ALL the letters of the alphabet

lazy dog (The Hound)...

...dreaming of the quick brown fox

earliest known reference...

March 14, 1885 in a journal for teachers
to use for writing practices

technicians during the 20th century tested typewriters with
the fox phrase calling the process foxing

now it’s used to display font samples and
to test computer keyboards

in Microsoft Word programs there is a code to see
the quick brown fox phrase

try typing  =rand.old()   into Word then hit enter…
for Mac 2011 type  =rand()  then hit enter...

did you see the quick brown fox phrase
successfully foxing across your screen?

it's just embroidery, have fun with it!

Hi Cathy, thanks so much for visiting me and leaving a comment! I have never seen your blog before and found it quite fascinating and witty! Love your photography and your embroidery is beautiful. I have a sewing machine that sits idle as I get too impatient with it. You do very beautiful designs! Thanks again for the visit. Blessings, Pamela

Fun info. I think this monogram may be one of my favorites, though it's difficult to pick a favorite of your work. ~ Sarah
