the bloom lasts only 24-48 hours
and the smell lives up to the name—gag
this bloom has been dubbed Romero after the filmmaker George A. Romero who filmed the cult classic Night of the Living Dead here in Pittsburgh back in 1968

I've never heard of the corpse flower but it is kind of pretty.
This is a new one to me. Have to say, it's really pretty in a strange sort of way. Great post!
