there are approximately 5,500 feathers
on an adult wild turkey
wild turkeys see in color and have excellent daytime vision -
but they have poor vision at night
maybe that explains why they keep falling off the tree limbs
they are roosting on by the driveway
sounds like cannonballs dropping through the tree
Duck!
I mean—Turkey!
head’s up!
tail feathers all over the place
it's just embroidery, have fun with it!

I thought your post total was a new way to exclaim frustration, Cathy. ; ) Do they really fall off the trees at night? I hope they are still alive after the fall. Love your embroidered piece. You had me at the crown!
This is definitely a favorite!
Thanks for the turkey facts. ;-)

They actually fall off the twig? Had they been celebrating?
Cathy, you are always a good source of info. I would never imagine 5,500 feathers on any bird except an ostrich! Beautiful monogram, too. xo
We were deer hunting this weekend and saw a bunch of wild turkeys which is always fun to see. I always try to guess what design you're going to do based on your post titles - I was expecting to see a turkey on a towel or apron perhaps. Gobble, gobble. Hugs!
BTW, my gnome towel is hanging in my bedroom at the lakehouse and it's so cute. I always think of you when I look at it. Thanks again.
What a sight that must be - raining turkeys! Guess it makes it easier to catch and roast them... Gobble, gobble!

You just crack me up!!!! Wonder if one of those birds will end up on your Thanksgiving table?!!

Laughter at the turkeys and smiles at your beautiful work, not bad for a Monday.
Oh, my goodness. Do they really fall out of the trees at night? Bummer for them! That'd ruin a good nights sleep... both for you and them! ;)
Beautiful work, as always, Cathy! blessings ~ tanna
Love your macro pics. A+! :). Did you know I am considered "The turkey girl" in my family? I guess you could say this is my official holiday. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. xoxo
