seems the Hound…
and the Rooster across the street...
forgot to turn back their clocks this morn
so we rocked our walk a bit earlier
(the Hound and I, not the Rooster)
after the Hound got over the moment
of indignation of having to use the...
aging-arthritic-you’re-not-allowed-to-leap-anymore-ramp…
off we went in search of rock stacks we
heard were spotted in the area
We found four!
rock stacking
rock balancing
cairns
Have you ever built one?
it's just embroidery, have fun with it!

I love your creative way of thinking....this is such a fab post tying in so many different things, love it. Those rock stacks are awesome, I never saw that. Any idea who did it?? xo
Not a clue who built them Barbara! But think it would be fun to try!
Yes Cathy, I love cairns and always find new ones at the end at the breakwater when I walk naughty Buckley ( a breakwater is a good place to walk him because he can't scamper off). I try to build three each time, it's a good feeling - they are not quite as complicated as yours!
Those rock stacks are something else! I've heard of Cairns but wasn't sure what they were. Love the hound. We used to have a yellow boy named Jake. What a dog he was. Ann
I just read about those rock stacks being around a lake on the Appalachian trail. I'd love to see those.
How cool to discover these in the woods and would to know who was responsible... the only rock towers I've built consisted of three to four stones in Sedona to harness positive energy!
xxoo
Oh, my goodness! Love the cairns. Now, I'm longing to see some for myself, Cathy!
I know... I was with the Hound and the Rooster... I hate it when we get this time change. LOL!
Thank you for sharing about the rocks! Love your creativity with all you come across! You Rock! ;) blessings ~ tanna
I haven't ever built one but I've seen a few - never this grand before, not even close. What a delight to stumble upon them :)
Those rock towers are the best I have ever seen! I've only built one. In the Samaria Gorge on Crete. It didn't look anything like this. :)
Thank you for your sweet thoughts and prayers dear friend.
Those stacked rocks were wonderful! I've seen them in my travels, but never built any stacks myself.
Oh, poor Hound!! I'll bet that walk in the woods did him good. And, how very cool to come upon the rock stacks. I have heard of a father/son team who do them in Greenwich, but I'm never actually seen one up close.
Such a clever backdrop for your work!!
xoxo Elizabeth
Those are fabulous. What a treasure to find them.
